A Washington County man is in custody following his attempt to elude several police agencies as he allegedly drove more than 100 miles an hour.
Lieutenant Gregg Hastings says the chase began Sunday in Salem and ended in Molalla.
OSP troopers north of Salem fell in behind the stolen vehicle as it continued northbound they say at speeds in excess of 100 mile per hour.
Joseph Eric Smith's attempts to elude officers ended after Molalla police were able to spike a couple tires, causing the 30-year-old to flee on foot before he was taken into custody.
Officers surrounded the area. Smith was taken into custody. He is being held at Clackamas County Jail on two warrants and various charges.
