A woman was killed and a man seriously wounded in a shooting in Albany, police said Wednesday.
Officers said they were trying to sort out what happened Tuesday night when both were shot in the head and the woman's husband was slightly injured.
Deborah Davis, 58, was taken to Samaritan Albany General Hospital where she later was pronounced dead.
Joel Jensen, 28, was taken to the same hospital, and then to Oregon Health & Science University in Portland.
Davis' husband, Tim Hardin, 56, called police from a neighbor's house.
Capt. Eric Carter said Hardin told police he fled his residence after he was attacked, and then he heard shots.
He said police were not sure what happened between Jensen and Davis.
"We are uncertain if ... Joel Jensen shot himself, or the wife, or both," Carter said.
Hardin "was treated and released, and he has spoken with investigators. He had a laceration or lacerations to his head. He was struck in the head," Carter said. He said it's unknown what struck Hardin.
Carter said Jensen is from the Albany area, and the three were acquainted.
As of Wednesday morning, Carter said, police had closed the home to preserve evidence and were awaiting a warrant to go into it.
