More than one (m) million utility customers lost electrical service in the windstorm that knocked down trees and power lines in Washington.
Most are customers of Puget Sound Energy. It reports that two-thirds of its customers are out of service. That's 700,000 customers in Western Washington.
Spokeswoman Dorothy Bracken says it will take days to restore service to everyone. The utility has 185 crews working.
Other utilities report widespread outages:
Snohomish County P-U-D, 95,000,
Seattle City Light, 160,000,
Grays Harbor Public Utility District, 22,000 customers,
Mason County Public Utility District, 20,000 customers.
