A Navy veteran man was found dead and his 18-year-old girlfriend critically injured after neighbors reported loud arguing and possibly fighting in their apartment, authorities said.

Jason A. Blaine, 31, a Navy veteran, was dead when Kitsap County sheriff's deputies arrived Sunday morning and his girlfriend, reportedly from Virginia, was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, deputy Scott E. Wilson said. The cause of death and nature of the violence was not disclosed.

A 20-year-old man who was living at the unit in the Wellington Apartments, a block from the Kitsap Mall, also was present at the time but is not believed to have committed the violence, Wilson said.
