Schoolhouse Supplies is an award-winning nonprofit that supports public education in Portland by giving classrooms and teachers free school supplies. Since 2000, we have distributed more than $9.8 million in school supplies to kids and classrooms in need, making a real difference for teachers and students throughout the Portland metro area. Stocked with supplies donated by businesses and individuals from throughout Portland, our volunteer-run Free Store for Teachers is a resource haven for teachers who often pay as much as $1,200 of their own money to supply students with the essential supplies they need to succeed in school. Because of our partnership with KGW this year, Schoolhouse Supplies will be able to distribute supplies to school districts outside of Portland for the first time, expanding our reach in a truly meaningful way.
