KGW, in partnership with OnPoint Community Credit Union, Fred Meyer Stores and University of Phoenix are dedicated to providing more than 5000 local area children with the basic school supplies that they couldn’t afford otherwise. This year’s campaign benefiting Schoolhouse Supplies, takes place August 3rd thru September 7th. more


KGW is proud to conduct the largest Toy Drive in the Northwest in partnership with BlueCross BlueShield and Les Schwab Tire Centers. Having concluded its 27th year, The Great Toy Drive continues to set new records. In 2008, the generosity of KGW viewers was extraordinary enabling us to provide tens of thousands of toys to more than 90 local agencies for distribution. more


As community members in one of the hungriest states in the nation, KGW recognizes the urgent need to feed Oregonians. The goal of The Great Food Drive is to raise a million pounds of food during the month of March while bringing attention to the hunger crisis existing in our own backyard. more


SOLV annually provides volunteer opportunities and resources for Oregonians to contribute to the livability of their communities. This has encouraged hundreds of Oregon communities to focus on clean-up, beautification and enhancement projects across the state. SOLV also works to increase youth involvement in environmental programs. more


Portland Trail Blazers rookie center Greg Oden joined Oregon Mentors, a non-profit organization unifying youth mentoring programs throughout the state, to announce a statewide mentoring awareness initiative. The formation of "Team ODEN" is aimed at helping Oregon Mentors reach its goal to connect 40,000 youth with caring adult mentors by 2010.
