VOLUNTEERS SOUGHT TO HELP VICTIMS
Marion County District Attorney's Victim Assistance Division offers
the opportunity for members of the community to provide emotional and
informational support to child and adult victims through volunteer work
as crime victim advocates. Trained volunteers provide support to victims
of child abuse, sexual assault, domestic violence, drunk driving,
homicide, and other crimes. Training is provided. Potential volunteers
must be 18 years of age, have no criminal history, be a good listener,

Volunteers needed for Portland Area Trees
Friends of Trees is a nonprofit that plants and cares for trees in
neighborhoods, urban natural areas and on school grounds in the five-county
Portland metro area. Getting involved is easy! No experience is necessary,
and tools and training are provided at events.
Between November and April, we bring volunteers together to plant trees at
urban natural areas or in neighborhoods every Saturday or Sunday morning,
and during the summer we bring volunteers together to care for the recently
planted trees. We also host training events for people who want to organize
a tree planting in their neighborhood or to lead other volunteers in tree
planting or tree care.
Friends of Trees needs volunteers in all areas, from outreach to tree
planting and tree care to organizing and coordinating projects. Our mission
is to plant, educate about, and care for urban trees to improve the
environment, build community, and improve the quality of urban life. Find

The Oregon Garden is growing rapidly and new and exciting volunteer

Crime Victim
Advocate Volunteers
The Washington County District Attorney’s Office
is in need of crime victim advocate volunteers to provide direct services
to victims of crime. Volunteers accompany victims to court, provide
emotional support, keep victims updated on their case status, provide
referrals and basic information.
Shifts are available Monday through Friday 8:30-5:00. Training

Washington County 4-H
Spend a little time, have a little
fun, and change a life! 4H Web Wizards, a highly original
and nationally recognized after-school youth mentoring program, helps
youth under-represented in the use of technology to learn industry awareness
and workplace skills, stay in school, and become a community resource
themselves by volunteering to show others what they learn!
Volunteers are needed once a week, Monday
through Thursday afternoons in Beaverton, Hillsboro and Forest Grove
to share their careers in technology with interested middle and high

Oregon Partnership’s Drug and
Alcohol Referral HelpLine is seeking motivated individuals to man the
phones and help Oregonians out of dependency.The HelpLine is the only
private drug and alcohol referral help line in the state and is widely
used as a resource by treatment providers throughout the state. The
HelpLine is a confidential, 24-hour, free link to resources for those
seeking help with drug and alcohol issues for either themselves or someone
they know.HelpLine volunteers are extensively trained to give referrals
and treatment options to callers throughout the state.The HelpLine has
a far-reaching database that is constantly updated to provide callers
with treatment options no matter where they are calling from in the
state.
Oregon Partnership will train interested individuals to be a resource
for Oregonians in need.Volunteer shifts are convenient and are scheduled
around the volunteers’ schedule.Volunteers are required to complete
an extensive 32-hour training before they can take phone calls.

Parents Anonymous of Oregon
Parents Anonymous of Oregon is dedicated to the prevention of child
abuse and neglect by strengthening families throughout our state. We
recognize that parenting is not easy. Parents are encouraged to
ask for help early in an effort to break the cycle of abuse to protect
today's children and strengthen tomorrow's generation of parents. A
major objective of Parents Anonymous is to establish a community norm
where a parent asking for help is viewed as a sign of strength in a
family and where communities respond with respect and resources. Parents
Anonymous of Oregon offers three programs which are available free of
