Ballots will get through, even with 41 cent stamps

07:40 AM PDT on Thursday, May 8, 2008

SALEM, Ore. -- The price of sending a letter is going up on May 12, from 41 to 42 cents.

But Oregon voters who send their ballots with a 41-cent stamp attached shouldn't worry.

Oregon counties have told post offices to deliver the ballots without delay, even if they are a penny short.

Some counties do have larger ballots, which require more than a single stamp. Postage requirements for each county are outlined in the voter instruction letters that accompany the ballots.

Ballots can also be hand-delivered to county elections offices or drop sites.
