Keely Chalmers
KGW Reporter
Keely is KGW's weekend Meteorologist and Environmental Reporter. She joined NewsChannel 8 in the summer of 2003 from KOAT-TV in Albuquerque where she was a reporter for three years.
Keely received her Certificate of Broadcast Meteorology from Mississippi State University, and took over the role of KGW Meteorologist on weekends in the spring of 2009.
Keely started her broadcast career as a weather person for KGWC in Casper, Wyoming. She says the station's tools were so low tech that the weather graphics were on videotape. Filling in on weather at KOAT in Albuquerque inspired her to start working on her certificate after coming to KGW over five years ago.
Prior to 2000, she worked as an anchor and reporter at KSFY in Sioux Falls, SD and KGWC in Casper, WY.
A native of Denver, Keely received her BA in English from the University of California at Santa Barbara, where she was also an All American in lacrosse.
When not working, her interests include hiking, mountain biking, skiing and learning to fish.
