Chris Willis joined KGW in July of 2013. He is an award winning Investigative reporter and anchor, recognized for his stories with Emmy awards, nominations and more than a dozen Associated Press awards.
Prior to joining KGW, Chris spent 14 years at KXAN, the NBC affiliate in Austin Texas an anchor and Investigative reporter. His stories led to changes in state law, arrests of fugitives and exposing government corruption. His investigation of an international kidnapping case in Texas directly led to the return of two boys, found in Mexico, to their father. Chris is a member of Investigative Reporters and Editors.
KGW is a return home for Chris. He graduated from Shelton High School in Shelton, Washington and is a proud Cougar from Washington State University. Prior to KGW, Chris worked as an anchor and reporter in Texas, Tennessee, Arizona and Honolulu.
Chris and his wife Katherine are excited to raise their two sons, Austin and Nicholas in the Northwest.
