Collette Wieland joined the NewsChannel 8 team in December 2010. Before moving to the Rose City, Collette was a reporter at the NBC affiliate, KSNV-TV in Las Vegas, NV. There she covered many national stories – including the O.J. Simpson armed robbery trial that sent the former football star to prison.
Collette started her career at KOBI-TV, the NBC affiliate in Medford, OR. During her time in Southern Oregon, she explored a lot of the state’s beaches, mountains, lakes and rivers.
Now that she’s back in Oregon – Collette looks forward to many more outdoor adventures.
Collette was born and raised in Los Angeles and earned her degree in Broadcast Journalism from California State University, Northridge. During that time, Collette was a lady Matador, playing NCAA Division I water polo for CSUN.
