ISLAMABAD (AP) — As Taliban violence grows in Pakistan, the U.S. appears to be stepping up missile strikes on a lawless tribal area.
Intelligence officials say a drone strike on a house in North Waziristan (vah-ZEER'-ih-stahn) today has killed six suspected militants. It's the third such strike in 24 hours.
Taliban attacks have increased since Pakistani forces launched a major operation in a militant stronghold near the Afghan border.
Meanwhile, a suicide car bombing earlier today has killed 10 people and wounded 25 others. It's the second attack in two weeks targeting a mosque used by Pakistan security forces.
No group has taken responsibility for the bombing, but the Taliban have carried out similar attacks throughout Pakistan.
