VANCOUVER, Wash. -- Two trail runners who hadn't been seen since Saturday were found safe Sunday morning, said a spokesperson for the Skamania County Sheriff's Office.
The two missing people, 65-year-old John A. Zeier and 43-year-old Andrea J. Jarvombek had last been seen at about 6:30 p.m. Saturday. They had left with the intention of running the Siouxon Creek Trail in Gifford Pinchon National Forest, about 50 miles northeast of Vancouver.
The two became lost while on the trail and had to spend the night in the Clark County wilderness. They were found Sunday morning by deputies from Skamania and Clark County.
Earlier Sunday morning, police found the vehicle the two were driving near the head of the trail.
