Two 20-year-old Woodburn women die in crash near Lincoln City

LINCOLN CITY, Ore. -- Two 20-year-old women died in a car crash on Highway 18 near Lincoln City, Oregon on Saturday evening.

Sarah Trujillo and Rebeca Amador, both from Woodburn, were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Investigators say 42-year-old Maricela Trujillo was driving a 1999 Honda Civic eastbound on Highway 18 just east of Lincoln City when it lost control going around a corner. The Civic slid into the oncoming lane and collided with a 2010 Kia Soul.

The driver, Maricela Trujillo, was taken to Legacy Emanuel Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Her two passengers, Sarah Trujillo and Rebeca Amador, both died in the crash.

The driver of the Kia, 23-year-old Douglas Bender, of Milwaukie, Oregon, was uninjured. His two passengers were both taken to Legacy Emanuel Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Highway 18 was closed for about five hours.
