Suspect at large in East Portland parking lot shooting

Shooting in SE Portland sends one to hospital

PORTLAND - Police responded  around 7:44 p.m. Monday night to a shooting in the parking lot of the Lucky Corner Bar & Grill at Southeast 136th Avenue and Powell Boulevard.

One man was hit and taken to the hospital with traumatic injuries.

Witnesses told police that someone in a newer black SUV fired multiple shots at the victim, then sped out of the area.

Neighbors say three small children, including an infant, were in a car next to the man who was shot.

“How could you even do that?” said neighbor Anna Momotok about the shooting. “That didn't solve anything. You just took your anger out on a human being. What did that accomplish? I don't know.”

Police said the suspect's black SUV had chrome wheels, gold trim and no license plates.

The suspected gunman was described as an Asian or Hispanic man in his 20s with a thin build, armed with a handgun.

Anyone with information on this case was asked to call the Portland Police non-emergency line at 503-823-3333.
