WSDOT avalanche work on I-90
Avalanche danger is making travel difficult through Snoqualmie and Stevens passes -- the two main east-west highway routes through the Washington Cascades. As of Thursday morning, both passes were open after WSDOT crews did avalanche work.
In this photo, crews closed I-90 at the snowshed on Jan. 19 to clear the snow from the mountain. Crews perform control work at this location often to prevent snow from falling onto the highway.
