GARTH BROOKS - SONGWRITING IS EVERYTHING

NEW YORK (AP) -- Garth Brooks puts songwriting into football terms. He says "if you talk to quarterbacks, they all secretly want to be linemen because they know the linemen are the most important guys on the field." He translates that by saying "songwriters are the most important guys." He says "to be considered a songwriter, is probably the greatest honor anyone can bestow on you." It's just been bestowed on Garth Brooks. He's been inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Brooks' "Shameless" pal, Billy Joel, did the honors.
