ATLANTA (AP) -- It's hard to think of, considering that we lost him when he was so young -- but if he had lived, Tupac Shakur would have turned 40 this year. And while he was a young man himself when he was gunned down in 1996, to some in the hip-hop game, he was more like a father figure. One of those who feels that way is Rick Ross. He says he found guidance through many of the songs Shakur performed. He was one of those who performed at Shakur's 40th birthday concert celebration late last week in Atlanta. Others who took part in the event included actress Jasmine Guy, singer Erykah Badu comedian Mike Epps and jazz artist Roy Ayers. The event raised funds for the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation -- an organization dedicated to helping students develop their skill in the creative arts. Epps hosted the concert and presented a $10,000 check to Shakur's mother Afeni for the foundation.
