"60 MINUTES" - ANDY ROONEY'S LAST REGULAR ESSAY
NEW YORK (AP) -- A final request from Andy Rooney -- leave me alone. The "60 Minutes" commentator did his last regular commentary for the CBS newsmagazine last night. And he says the one thing that bugs him about being famous is that people recognize him. He says he spent the first 50 years of his life trying to become a well-known writer -- and the next 30 trying to avoid being famous. Rooney says he hates when people spot him on the street or at a ballgame. So he asks, if you see him in a restaurant, "please, just let me eat my dinner."
