FOO FIGHTERS RECORD THE OLD-FASHIONED WAY

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl says their Grammy night "represents the human element of music that you really get when you just go straight to tape and record something that sounds like human beings." The Foo Fighters won five Grammys, including best rock album for "Wasting Light" and best hard rock performance for "White Limo." Grohl says it was the most fun he ever had making a record because they made it in his garage. He says music should be less about sounding perfect and more about the head and the heart. Drummer Taylor Hawkins took a different approach: he swore all through his acceptance speech, but it was during the part of the ceremony that wasn't broadcast.
