Photos: Preparing for 9/11 anniversary

In this March 23, 2011 photo, the remains of New York City Fire Department and other emergency response vehicles damaged in the Sept. 11 attacks at the World Trade Center, sit in Hangar 17 at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport. New York State officials are likely to draw from the cache of artifacts as it creates 30 different exhibits of relics from ground zero meant to give New Yorkers around the state something to contemplate as they reflect and mourn the losses from the 2001 terrorist attacks.
