Moshow promotes PBOT's 'Parking Kitty' app in new rap video

MOSHOW the cat rapper teams up with PBOT for new music video

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Portland artist Moshow the Cat Rapper has teamed up with the Portland Bureau of Transportation for his latest music video, which helps promote the city of Portland's new parking app.

Moshow grew up in the Baltimore housing projects but moved to Portland because he felt a kinship with the city's weirdness. In an interview with KGW in 2015, the rapper, who incorporates cats into his music, said he loves rapping and he loves cats.

Moshow's new music video, released on Tuesday, is called "Parking Kitty" and it helps advertise the city of Portland's new parking app, which carries the same name as the song.

In the video, Moshow raps while he and his cat, Ravioli, drive and dance in front of a 1956 Chevrolet Nomad. PBOT parking enforcement officers and Transportation Director Leah Treat are also featured in the video, dancing in the background.

The video was filmed and directed by Matt Giraud of Gyroscope Pictures in the RiverPlace District in downtown Portland.

Portland partnered with Passport to develop its new parking app, "Parking Kitty," which was released four months ago, allows users to pay for their parking session using their debit and credit cards. They can also receive alerts when sessions are low on time, extend parking sessions remotely, view and manage their parking history and multiple car sessions and receive email receipts.

The app can be used in all of Portland's parking districts, and Portland State University will allow the app to be used in its parking garages by Sept. 25, when the new school year starts.

The app can be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play. App users can also manage their account at parkingkitty.com.
