SALEM -- A bill that would ban classrooms in the state of Oregon from using 'seclusion rooms' is on its way to the governor.

The Senate voted Monday to ban the small enclosures, which are generally used to help students with special needs when they're feeling overstimulated.

The ban follows a heated response from some parents in Southwest Washington late last year. The principal of a Longview learning center removed an isolation booth that had been used for four years after a photo posted on Facebook raised concerns it was being used for punishment.
