Former VP Joe Biden in Portland Thursday for book tour

Joe Biden is talking about a run for president in 2020. He was on the Today show talking about his possible run.

PORTLAND, Ore. – Former Vice President Joe Biden will be in Portland tonight as part of his book tour.

Biden is appearing at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall at 7:30 p.m. Local nonprofit Literary Arts is hosting the longtime politician to discuss his new memoir: “Promise Me, Dad: A Year of Hope, Hardship and Purpose.”

Tickets range from $25 to $325, however, the event is sold out. A spokesman for the venue said there may be a few last-minute holds released but can't confirm whether that will happen.

Biden, 75, has floated the idea of a presidential bid in 2020, but has yet to say definitively whether he will run.

The last time Biden made a public appearance in Portland, to campaign for Sen. Jeff Merkley (D-OR) in October 2014, he incited a small frenzy when Merkley took the then-Vice President and his motorcade to Portland’s famed Salt and Straw ice cream shop in Northeast Portland.

Biden ordered chocolate and vanilla scoops in a waffle cone.

No word yet on whether Biden plans a similar stop before or after tonight’s appearance at the Schnitz.
