PORTLAND, Ore. -- Democratic Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum is keeping her job. Rosenblum was appointed attorney general in June after handily winning the Democratic primary for the office a month earlier.

She replaced Democrat John Kroger, who stepped down early to become president of Reed College. Rosenblum was heavily favored in Tuesday's election. Republican James Buchal got on the ballot through a write-in campaign after no Republicans stepped up to run before the filing deadline.

He spent less than $35,000 on his race, while Rosenblum spent more than $1 million between her primary and general-election campaigns.

Rosenblum is a retired appeals-court judge. Buchal is a Portland attorney.
