SALEM – Kate Brown has been re-elected as Oregon Secretary of State.
“With your vote, you said that experience matters. And that you want a Secretary of State you can trust – to work with you to keep this state moving forward," Brown said.

Brown, a first-term Democrat, was first elected in 2008 to serve as Oregon’s Secretary of State. Since assuming that role, she has made it her mission to make Oregon’s government more accountable and transparent to taxpayers.
Her main challenger, Knute Buehler had fashioned himself as a pragmatic moderate.
Buehler conceded Wednesday morning.
He congratulated Brown and hoped for her to work towards election and state retirement (PERS) reform.
"We do not have a healthy democracy in Oregon. I will continue to push for election reform like I have the past two decades."
