SALEM, Ore. (AP) — Oregon students participating in a mock election chose Barack Obama over Mitt Romney 62 percent to 32 percent in the race for president.
Results released Friday by the League of Women Voters of Oregon show Obama had 7,182 votes and Romney 3,675. Four minor party candidates split about 800 votes.
Students favored Ballot Measure 80 for marijuana legalization 52 percent to 48 percent. Students said the economy was the most important national issue, followed by education.
Students also voted on other state races and ballot measures as part of a national voter education project.
