Suspect arrested for stabbing man found dead inside car in NE Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Portland police have arrested a suspect in the fatal stabbing of a man who was found dead by police inside a car on Saturday night in Northeast Portland.

Kelby Blaine Jack, 36, was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on Sunday afternoon on a murder charge. Jack is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Multnomah County Court.

The victim, 25-year-old Martin Richard Ochoa died of a single stab wound, according to the Oregon State medical examiner.

Police responded to a call in the area of Northeast 105th Avenue and Sandy Boulevard on Saturday night about 10:15 p.m. The caller claimed to be the victim of a drive-by shooting, but when police arrived they found no victim and no witnesses.

Their investigation led them to Northeast 111th Drive and Fargo Street where they found Ochao dead inside a car. Jake was detained at the scene. Police say he was acquainted with the victim.
