OSP arrests driver who pulled gun in I-205 road rage confrontation

OSP arrests Oregon City man for road rage

OREGON CITY -- Oregon State Police have arrested Bradlee J. France, age 38, from Oregon City, for charges related to a roadside confrontation Friday on Interstate 205.

France was accused of  with menacing, disorderly conduct, and pointing a firearm at another. He was lodged at the Clackamas County jail. Bail was set at $14,500.

France was scheduled to make his initial court appearance in Clackamas Court on Wednesday at 3 p.m., but a court clerk told KGW that France bailed out and will not be back in court until Thursday, Oct. 13.

The incident happened at around 7:30 a.m., Friday, Sept. 9, along I-205 southbound near Oregon City.

It was captured on cell phone video by Russ Ceperich, who posted it on his Facebook page. In the video, you can see the driver of a black Mercedes SUV get out and brandish a gun at the driver of a gray Dodge 3500 truck.

Thanks to tips from the public, France's vehicle was identified by an off-duty Clackamas County firefighter. France was stopped in West Linn and taken into custody without incident.

Oregon State Troopers retrieved a Glock 19 in France's home that was used in the Sept. 9 incident.

Ceperich says he doesn't know what led up to the confrontation.

"Having a concealed weapons permit myself, I can't imagine ever pulling a gun out of my car on another person in traffic," Ceperich said. "It just blew my mind. I called 911 after the event because I felt like that was just way out of line."

France has a previous driving conviction, for careless driving in 2009.
