VANCOUVER – There are many ways to help aid those affected by the massive fire that destroyed Crestline Elementary School in Vancouver.
Officials with the Evergreen School District said simplest way to help would be by making a cash donation to the school's foundation, a non-profit linked with the district.
Donate: Evergreen School District Foundation (In the drop down menu, choose Crestline.)
In addition, cash, check, gift cards and supplies can be dropped off at the District Offices, Burgundy Complex, located at 13501 NE 28th St. or mailed to ESD Foundation c/o Community Relations, PO Box 8910, Vancouver, WA 98668-8910. (Teachers have specifically requested gift cards from Amazon.com, Ikea and Learning Palace.)
The district specifically requested the following supplies:
Copy paper, pencils, crayons, colored pencils, scissors, erasers, water color paints, tissues, glue sticks, hand sanitizer, playground equipment (balls, jump ropes, etc.), markers, dry erase markers, wide-ruled notebook filler paper and wide-ruled composition books. The school district is requesting people not send books because those selections might not fit the teachers’ needs.

Fundraising events and company donations:
Donations have already begun pouring in. Both the Vancouver Firefighters' Union Local 452 and Wells Fargo each donated $5,000 to the Evergreen Public Schools Foundation.
"Our hearts go out to the students, parents and teachers who were affected by this terrible fire," said Mark Trupp, Wells Fargo's district manager for Clark County. "We encourage other community banks to join us in this effort to support this local school."
In addition, the New Season’s Market store located at Fisher’s Landing posted signs at all its cash registers, letting customers know they can make a contribution by adding it to their grocery bill. The company said it would match the first $2,500.00. All the money collected will be directed to Crestline School through the Evergreen School District Foundation.
Julie Jaffey runs a monogramming and screen printing business and her two sons attended Crestline. She decided to help raise money for the school by creating T-shirts and bracelets that read "I love Crestline" and selling them for $10 and $5 each. Her company 'Just Personalize It' will have sale locations listed on its Facebook page. People can also get more information by calling 360-607-1793 or by sending an email.
