VANCOUVER, Wash. – A Vancouver retirement center is dealing with a major Norovirus outbreak.

The Van Mall Retirement center, located at 7808 N.E. 51st Street, is working with the Clark County Health Department to fight the outbreak.

So far, at least 20 people, including staff members, have become sick, as first reported in The Columbian. Two people have been hospitalized.

The health department advised that the retirement center be thoroughly cleaned with bleach products and group activities be curtailed. Center managers said they were following all the recommendations.

According to The Colombian, the illnesses were first reported to the Clark County Health Department last Friday.

Norovirus is very contagious.
