VANCOUVER, Wash. -- Police identified the pedestrian who was struck by a semi truck in the area of E 15th and D Streets in Vancouver Monday afternoon.

Kevin Hoskins, 25, was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and remains in critical condition.

Witnesses told KGW the man had been playing ‘chicken’ with cars in the area just before 3 p.m. Moments later, he reportedly darted in front of a semi truck. The truck was not able to stop in time and struck Hoskins. The driver remained on the scene and was cooperating with police.

Police told KGW that the man was wearing a hospital bracelet and had left a hospital earlier in the day.

Traffic in the area was expected to be delayed for several hours. More: Latest Traffic
