VANCOUVER -- Neighbors believe lightning brought down a tree in Vancouver.

It happened in the 17000 block of Northeast 22nd Street Tuesday afternoon.

"I see this bolt come straight down and a second later a big, echoing, almost shotgun-in-your-ear sound," said neighbor Matt Penfield. "It rattled my window."

Penfield and other neighbors raced outside. They found the tree covering a woman's car.  Nobody was hurt.

"That's the closest I've been to a lightning strike," said Penfield.
