PORTLAND -- The man accused of driving a semi-truck the wrong way on interstates 84 and 205 before crashing head-on into a car Monday pleaded not guilty Tuesday.

Police said 49-year-old Kenneth Burgess of Medical Lake, Wash., was traveling up to 85 mph against traffic for almost 10 miles before the crash on the Glenn Jackson Bridge. He faces several charges, including DUII, assault and reckless driving.

According to court documents, his blood alcohol level was .15 percent.

The woman in the car he collided with was treated and released from a nearby hospital Monday. Her car was totaled. The crash caused delays of up to two hours during the morning rush hour.

Burgess posted bail and was scheduled to appear in court again on April 26.
