LONGVIEW, Wash. -- Crews were called Saturday morning to a fire at the EGT grain terminal in Longview.

When firefighters arrived just after 9 a.m. there was smoke coming out of a covered conveyor belt that was feeding grain onto a ship, according to Alan Headley with the Cowlitz County Fire Department.

The fire was brought under control by 11 a.m., but crews continued to look for hot spots for several hours.

Firefighters were also working to ensure that smoldering grain had not made it onto the ship.
