VANCOUVER -- A car crashed into a transmission pole and knocked out power for 16,000 Clark Public Utilities customers Monday afternoon.

Power was restored to nearly all of the customers before 4:30 p.m., authorities said.

The outage was in the Cascade Park West area, north of Highway 14, south of Southeast Mill Plain and just east of I-205, according to Clark Public Utilities.
