BATTLE GROUND, Wash. -- A Clark County fire official says a 75-year-old woman out to celebrate her birthday at a southwest Washington restaurant crashed into the front of the building instead but no one was hurt.
The Columbian says Battalion Chief Tim Dawdy reports that the driver, her passenger and customers inside the restaurant all escaped unharmed. He says customers scattered Tuesday when the driver first hit a sign outside Keo Thai Cuisine.
Battle Ground city spokeswoman Bonnie Gilberti says the woman was pulling into a parking space when her foot slipped off the brake and onto the accelerator. The woman's name was not released.
The car plowed through some glass but Gilberti says inspectors determined the building was structurally sound after the crash.
Police are investigating.
