BEAVERTON, Ore. -- A suspect in a Nov. 15 samurai sword attack in Southern Oregon was arrested in Beaverton Thursday, police said.

Preston James Sweany, 23, was arrested by Beaverton police in the 14000 block of Southwest 6th Street on Thursday for outstanding warrants, according to Sergeant Jeff Fitzgerald of the Oregon State Police.

State police said Sweaney got into an argument with his brother in a motor home in Grants Pass and cut him on the arm and side with the sword.

Nathaniel Sweaney, 21, was taken to a local hospital. A cousin who tried to intervene was cut on the hand.

Sweany was booked as a fugitive from justice and for a misdemeanor warrant from Curry County. Charges are still pending for the alleged assault in Grants Pass, police said.
