COOS BAY, Ore. (AP) — Coos Bay authorities believe that a man whose body was found behind a warehouse Sunday had been dead since Wednesday night.
The World newspaper in Coos Bay reports (http://bit.ly/13SkM3Q) two suspects appeared in court Monday. Bail was set at $1.5 million each. A grand jury is to convene Thursday to consider murder charges.
Police arrested 31-year-old Michael Gertson and 46-year-old Jesse Longhenry after discovering the body.
Coos County District Attorney Paul Frasier says a third man being held on a parole violation charge is a "person of interest." He didn't identify the man.
An autopsy determined that 34-year-old Jesse Hayes was beaten on the head and strangled. Frasier said the body was covered by trash.
