BONANZA, Ore. (AP) — A southern Oregon sheriff says the bodies of two people have been found east of the small town of Bonanza and the case is being treated as an apparent double homicide.

Klamath County Sheriff Tim Evinger said in a statement that the county's major crime team was activated Thursday evening after the bodies were found. The team includes members of police agencies around the county.

Details about the victims were not immediately available.

Evinger says investigators planned to work through the night and the state crime lab has been asked to help process evidence.
