SALEM – A woman had around $300 worth of purchases stolen from her car while shopping in Salem during Black Friday.
Claudia Lamar cautions other shoppers to make sure to take extra precautions when leaving purchases unattended.
She said her car was parked at Marion Parkade in Salem when the thief struck. She was excited about the gifts she’d just bought for her family and may have forgotten to lock her car doors.
“I feel horrible. I am afraid to tell my husband. I feel guilty, and I feel stupid and just don't want anybody else to feel like this because it’s the worst feeling in the world,” she said.
Police in Salem were investigating but caution shoppers this time of year to be extra cautious about leaving valuables in the car.
