SALEM -- A Salem man was arrested for dealing drugs from an apartment where he was squatting with his 8-year-old daughter, police said.
At about 10:30 a.m. Saturday, police were called to a trespassing report in the Spring Creek Apartments, at 881 25th Street SE, according to a Salem Police Department spokesman.
Responding officers found 33-year-old Daryl Hernandez squatting in an apartment with his daughter. Investigators then found drugs in the apartment, along with evidence that Hernandez had been dealing drugs.
Hernandez was jailed for endangering a minor's welfare, child neglect and unlawful delivery of drugs within 1,000 feet of a school, along with other charges. He also faces a civil charge of trespassing.
His daughter was taken into custody of the Oregon Dept. of Human Services.
