PORTLAND – A Salem man was arrested and charged with assaulting a 6-month-old child.
The child was in critical condition with bone fractures and head trauma at the Oregon Health & Sciences University Hospital in Portland, Marion County deputies said.
The victim was initially brought to the Santiam Hospital in Stayton for treatment on April 5th by his mother's boyfriend, 30-year old Robert Andrew Pinsky.
Pinsky told doctors he was watching the child when the boy fell off a couch. Doctors told police the injuries were not consistent with such a fall.
Pinsky was charged with assault.
