DAYTON, Ore. -- The body of a 20-year-old McMinnville man swept into the Willamette River at Dayton Sunday was recovered Thursday, police said.

Anthony Jimenez disappeared under the water near Southeast Dorsey Road while trying to swim across with two others Sunday, police said.

Derek Angel, 21, of McMinnville, and 22-year-old Kevin Judson, of Dayton, attempted the crossing with Jimenez late Sunday afternoon, according to the Yamhill County Sheriff's Office.

Angel made it to shore and Jiminez and Judson struggled. Two other men went to help them and assist Judson to shore. When they turned to help Jiminez, he had disappeared.

Two sheriff's office boats and a dive team could not find his body Sunday. The search resumed the next three mornings and Jiminez was found just before 10 a.m. Wednesday.
