SALEM – Three people were hurt in a two-car crash on Highway 99W between Rickreall and Monmouth Friday night, police said.

Just after 7 p.m., 24-year-old Kristopher White was driving north on the highway when 45-year-old Mulatu Weyesa of Portland didn’t stop at a stop sign on Clow Corner Road and pulled out in front of him causing both cars to collide, according to Lt. Gregg Hastings with Oregon State Police.

Weyesa and his 15-year-old son were taken in an ambulance to a Salem hospital. White was taken to West Valley Hospital. Police don’t believe any of the injuries are life threatening.

Just before the crash, dispatchers received a call reporting Weyesa’s car nearly causing several other crashes in the area. Weyesa was cited for reckless driving.
