KEIZER, Ore. -- Keizer police say a motorcycle officer was injured Tuesday, laying down his bike to avoid a collision with a stolen car that had rammed a patrol car.
Officer Eric Jefferson was treated at a hospital and released. The officer in the patrol car was not injured. Other officers chased down the stolen car and arrested a 28-year-old Keizer man on charges that include using a vehicle as a weapon.
The incident began Tuesday afternoon when police attempted to stop the stolen car. Police say the driver rammed the patrol car and was heading toward the motorcycle officer when Jefferson who had to execute the emergency lay-down to get out of the way.
