SALEM – Two inmates who walked away from a correctional facility in Salem Friday night were taken back into custody Saturday afternoon, police said.

Tyson McComas, 38 (pictured right), was arrested near Southeast Mildred Lane just after noon after police received a tip from a citizen. Police later arrested 41-year-old Shane Willis (pictured left) just before 3 p.m.

Willis and McComas were discovered missing from the Mill Creek Correctional Facility at around 10 p.m. Friday, said Liz Craig with the Oregon Department of Corrections.

Mill Creek is a minimum-security prison five miles southeast of Salem that houses around 280 inmates who are within four years of release.

Willis was in custody on one count of delivery/manufacturing of a controlled substance. His earliest release date was July 10, 2014.

McComas was in custody on nine counts of criminal nonsupport. His earliest release date was July 25, 2015.
