SALEM -- Crews pulling a kayaker up the banks of Mill Creek after a rescue Friday spotted a man having a seizure nearby, and got both people to a nearby hospital.

A water rescue team was dispatched just before 1:30 p.m. to a report of a woman who had fallen out of her kayak and was stuck under a bridge near Commercial Street, according to the Salem Fire Department.

The team was able to pull the kayaker to safety. She was taken to Salem Hospital with minor hypothermia.

While bringing her up the banks, rescuers saw a man having a seizure nearby. He was also taken to a nearby hospital, where his injuries were not considered life-threatening.
