SALEM, Ore. (AP) — Two women have filed a $3 million lawsuit against Marion County, claiming they were sexually assaulted by a deputy while in jail.
The lawsuit says the women were abused for more than a year by a guard at the work center where the women were assigned.
The Statesman Journal reports the deputy was fired after his arrest in March. He's due to appear in court on June 22 on 14 sex crime charges.
A spokesman for the Marion County sheriff's office, Don Thomson, declined to comment on the civil lawsuit.
