MANZANITA, Ore. — The U.S. Coast Guard rescued a 16-year-old boy who was stranded on a cliff northwest of Manzanita.
Petty Officer Nate Littlejohn says a helicopter crew found the boy clinging to a rock face Friday evening at the south end of Smuggler Cove in Oswald West State Park.
The crew lowered a rescue swimmer who strapped himself to the boy.
The swimmer and the teen were then lowered to safety on the beach.
No serious injuries were reported.
